Custodial History
These fragments of petitions to the State Legislature were burned in the 1911 State Capitol Fire. They were most likely transferred to the New York State Archives from the New York State Library in 1978 along with what was referred to as the "Assembly Papers," but somehow became strayed from those records. They were subsequently identified and accessioned by State Archives staff in 2005 as part of a project to integrate or describe estrayed or unidentified records. The series may have been withdrawn from old Archives collection A0143, State Legislature. Assembly Papers.
