Scope and Content Note
This series contains a list of expenditures made by the Republican National Committee during the 1908 election (it is not stated specifically for which election). The statement was filed in the Secretary of State's office pursuant to Chapter 596 of the Laws of 1907, which required the treasurer of every political committee to file these statements within twenty days after a public election. The statement provides the date of the disbursement, to whom it was made, the purpose, and the amount.
In addition, the statement differentiates between the expenditures paid out by the Republican National Committee's New York and Chicago headquarters. The list of disbursements made by the Chicago headquarters does not provide the date of payment. The expenditures of the New York headquarters are not listed by any particular means.
