Scope and Content Note

This series consists of one volume listing patients admitted to the prison hospital.

The register contains the inmate number, name, former residence (city or town only), occupation, nationality, duration of disease, source of infection, family history (mentions relative who died from disease), former sanitary surroundings (good, fair, poor), whether from tenement house, apparently cured, improved, negative, and remarks, if any. It appears that this is a register of the hospital ward which cared for tuberculosis inmates that had been transferred to Clinton from other New York prisons. Clinton prison has been transferring tuberculosis patients since 1889 due to its Adirondack climate.
