Summary:
This series consists of canal ice permits, which allowed people to extract ice from canals during the seasonal navigational
suspension period. Mostly permits are from the Capital District, particularly Watervliet, Green Island and Cohoes. Many were
individual men, though a few women and several industries applied for and received ice permits as well. Information includes
the name and city of the individual submitting the application and the conditions under which the permit was granted.
