Summary:
Staff of the office of the Superintendent of Public Works used this volume to maintain a record of public advertisements for
proposals to undertake canal construction contracts pursuant to Chapter 147 of the Laws of 1903 (Barge Canal Act) and supplementary
acts. Each entry includes contract number and type of contract (Barge Canal or Terminal); year and chapter of legislation
under which contract was enabled; a copy of the advertisement as it appeared in the newspapers; and a list of newspapers in
which the advertisement was published.
