Scope and Content Note
This series consists of journals of accounting information kept by the New York State Superintendent of Public Works. Information recorded in these journals relates to expenses associated with accounts held by individuals and contractors working on the New York State Canal System. Information generally includes date; name of individual or contractor; type of work; and amount credited or debited.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
