Scope and Content Note
Volume 1 of this series contains cross section drawings relating to Barge Canal Western Division Contract No. 6 in Monroe County. Drawings pertain to the individual intersections of Buffalo Road, Lyell Avenue, and Spiers Bridge Road with the Barge Canal. Volume 2 contains cross section drawings relating to Barge Canal Western Division Contract No. 202, also in Monroe County. This contract involved completion of excavation of the canal channel in the Genesee River and the placing of rock-spoil protection between Elmwood Avenue bridge and Clarissa Street bridge in Rochester. Drawings in both volumes are done in pencil and ink on 16 x 20 inch sheets of 10 x 10 grids-to-one inch cross section graphing paper.
