These volumes are an index to registers and filed papers in cases to which the State of New York was a party or in which it had an interest. The location of the registers and filed papers is unknown. The first volume contains only an alphabetical list of cases and numbers, whose significance is unknown.
The second and third volumes contain alphabetical entries of parties (both plaintiffs and defendants), with references to the box number of filed papers and register and page numbers (vol. 2 lists registers 17-23; vol. 3 lists registers 24-30). The index does not state the courts in which these cases were heard.
