Scope and Content Note
These are annual reports of the Superintendent of Banks, consisting of text and various tables of data relative to banking organizations.
Accounts of acitivities in which the department engaged include: banks and trust companies, savings banks, savings and loan associations, licenses lenders, credit unions, sales finance companies, employee welfare funds, licenses cashers of checks, insurance premium finance agencies, merger policies, and bank examinations.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
