Scope and Content Note
This series consists of a copy of the State Canal Commissioners' report to the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate, as well as dock building permits in the Erie Basin in Buffalo, NY. The New York State Senate requested a report from the Board of New York State Canal Commissioners that included copies of all proceedings relative to the construction of wharves, docks, and piers in the Erie Basin in Buffalo, NY. The report contains the application for new construction, communications between the canal commissioner, the State Assembly and State Senate, and permits authorizing the work described in the applications.
