Scope and Content Note
This series consists of examples of contract specimens or specifications relating to the 1854 enlargement of the State's canal system. Specifications for locks; waste weir; culverts; sections; bridges and duties of contractors are included in the records. The specifications list the general description of the contras; quantity and type of material; dimensions and other requirements needed to complete the contract. The contracts often include examples of bills for material.
