Scope and Content Note
This series consists of printed abstracts describing the military service of New York men who served in the United States Marine Corps during the Civil War. The abstracts provide the following information: name, birthplace, to what place credited, date of enlistment, place of enlistment, term, rank, names of vessels on which served, and final disposition (discharged, deserted, died, etc.).
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
