Scope and Content Note

This large group of unprocessed records awaits arrangement into discrete series. Although apparently the product of the Comptroller's Office, the relationship of records to each other or to other series held by the Archives is presently unknown.

Examples of records include: applications to revoke redemptions; letters and telegrams from appraisers (1904-1907); assessment rolls and lists of construction expenditures (1829-1834); documents on rejection of taxes in 1908 returned from towns; miscellaneous reports and papers; responses to circular letters sent to town clerks; documents pertaining to the tax sales of 1910 and 1915; and applications for issuance of deeds (1881, 1885, 1900).
