Scope and Content Note
This series consists of subject files from the Superintendent of Bedford Hills Correctional Facility (previously Westfield State Farm). The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports, lists, and other material relating to the administration of the facility from approximately 1962 to 1974.
The records pertain to such subjects as: correction officer's orders; procedures and work assignments; inmate education; training; recreation programs; inmate accidents; classification and parole reviews; clinic schedules; inmate misbehavior and discipline; inmate hospitalization; and visitors.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
