Scope and Content Note

This series consists of statistical summaries of Albion's inmate population for the period 1930 to 1942. Each of the yearly summaries contains statistical tables listing numbers of inmates. The tables compare various categories of crime and sentence with categories of inmate background and characteristics.

Included are summaries of Albion inmates comparing the following: type of crime with length of sentence; number of times previously convicted with aggregated time imprisoned; nature of previous crimes with present crime; religious training with type of crime; age with marital condition and number of children; and type of crime with age, mental age, religious training, mental and physical disabilities, race and country of birth, country of birth of parents, ability to speak English, length of employment, and literacy and education.

Also included in each volume is a summary of the movement of the inmate population which lists numbers of inmates in custody, admitted, transferred, discharged, and by race.
