Scope and Content Note
This series consists of a single, incomplete docket book compiled by clerks of the Public Service Commission First District. The docket book begins with a record of commission actions taken on case number 1800, commencing in March of 1914. For reasons unknown, only selected First District cases are docketed in the volume. Numerous cases found in State Archives record series 19594, Public Service Commission First District Case Files, 1907-1921, are not referenced in the volume. It is not known if a similar docket book was created to track selected First District cases prior to March of 1914.
Titles of cases in the docket book were typed and then pasted into the volume. Commission actions on cases are documented by a combination of manuscript entries, ink stamped notations (usually "Hearing Held"), and extractions from printed commission minutes which were pasted onto the pages of the volume. The vast majority of cases included in the volume involve gas, electric, and steam utilities.
