Scope and Content Note

The series consists of material collected and maintained by Dr. William J. Ronan, secretary to Governor Nelson Rockefeller. It is primarily copies of the governor's subject files (roughly F-P), campaign speeches including the 1964 Presidential campaign, and press releases. There are also indexes to many of the speeches and statements. Other records include meeting minutes and agendas, state aid studies, and copies of correspondence, reports, clippings, pamphlets, memoranda and statements on a variety of topics.

B1402-08: This accretion consists of the subject files of Jonathan B. Bingham, who served as Secretary to Governor W. Averell Harriman from January 1, 1955 to June 30, 1958. These files document such topics as atomic energy, juvenile delinquency, migrant labor, milk marketing, state security risk law for public employees, Youth Court, discrimination in employment, the Home Rule, and the Arden House Conference on Metropolitan Area Problems.
