Scope and Content Note

The series is an assortment of transfer documentation (including inventories, receipts, and memoranda) primarily concerned with land records transferred among offices of the Secretary of State, the Office of General Services (OGS), the Department of Transportation (DOT), and the New York State Library.

Records include a list of maps, field books, and other records transferred from DOT, Waterways Maintenance Subdivision, to the State Library, including a copy of the 1973 "Catalogue of Maps in the Land Bureau of the Department of State Engineer and Surveyor;" a list of items "missing from the New York Colonial Documents Endorsed Land Papers upon Comparison with the Calendar of Land Papers" (1928); an inventory of Land Office records to be transferred to OGS (1960) and to be retained in the Department of State (1960); receipts or lists of records received by the State Library, including volumes from the Dept. of State (1949) the Van Rensselaer papers (1913), and original records of patents (1915);

an inventory of land records under control of the Bureau of Miscellaneous Records (1962); memorandum from the Office of the Secretary of State concerning transfer of historical documents, maps, and surveys to the permanent custody of the State Library (1924); and papers from a records disposition request (OGS #6702) pertaining to "Old Mines and Minerals Files" filed and recorded with the Secretary of State in possession of OGS (1962).
