Scope and Content Note

This letters patent, issued in 1791, grants to William Basset lot 95 containing 600 acres of land situated in the Township of Homer, Montgomery County. One hundred acres located in the south east corner of the grant is to be reserved to the state, as well as five acres of every one hundred acres for highways. Gold and silver mines are also reserved to the state. The patent was issued with the condition that the settlement be made on the tract within seven years. The patent is approved by the Commissioner of the Land Office and witnessed by Governor George Clinton.

The patent is a single printed sheet with information and signatures filled in. A large wax and paper seal is attached.
