The series consists of annual reports that were transmitted to the legislature or, later, to the Department of Mental Hygiene as required by law. Included are annual reports of the trustees of the New York State Asylum for Idiots (report numbers 1 through 6, for 1851-1856); and annual reports of the Syracuse State School (report numbers 96 through 118, for fiscal years ending March 31, 1946- March 31, 1968).
B1700-06: This accretion consists of scattered reports from the years 1885-1964.
