Scope and Content Note
This series, consisting of printed cards, documents inventories of equipment used in all operational aspects of the New York State Barge Canal System. Cards include specific details on item types, makes, models, where equipment was used on the canals, equipment life cycles, and dates of equipment operation. The series is comprised of card sets from two separate surveys, the earlier from roughly 1940 through 1969 and a later inventory conducted in the early 1990s.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
