Scope and Content Note
The series consists of various traffic-related reports, forms, and records maintained by Canal traffic agents. These reports provide unique documentation of day-to-day traffic on the canals. The files were kept to meet record keeping and reporting requirements in administering the state's canal system. The records include: origin and destination reports (1960-1978); tonnage reports (1960-1981); trip clearances (1990-1994); and other various traffic related forms.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
