Summary:
This series documents the State Comptroller's role in administering accounts of the state, paying bills and payrolls, and auditing records, accounts, and financial and management practices of state agencies. The Office of the State Comptroller used this material in exhibitions to highlight key agency functions. Records include indentures; contracts; published reports and pamphlets analyzing audit functions and interpreting cases and contracts; examples of contracts and vouchers; and accounts and appropriation ledgers from the Department of Public Works and the Prison Department.
