Scope and Content Note

This series consists of two separate Microsoft Excel 2003 spreadsheets created to index and track incoming correspondence during the administration of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer. The file named "Correspondence" covers January 2007 through March 2007 and contains 16,384 entries. The file named "Correspondence1" covers portions of February 2007 through March 2008 and contains 46,312 entries.

The spreadsheets contain the following information: correspondent number; correspondent's last name; correspondent's first name; correspondent's suffix (often left blank); salutation; date of correspondence; inside address or repeated salutation (often left blank); correspondent's email; date entered into log; subject of the correspondence; person to whom the correspondence is addressed; whether the correspondence was directed to Lieutenant Governor David A. Paterson; and whether the correspondence was followed up by a proclamation.
