Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible Web site of the USA Niagara Development Corporation.

B2097-07: This accretion consists of a copy of the USA Niagara Development Corporation Web site produced on December 26, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains press releases (2005-2006), requests for proposals and expressions of interest (2001-2006) issued by the corporation, a newsletter (2006), a development strategy (2002) for downtown Niagara Falls (N.Y.), and a multi-modal transportation report (2004). Summary information about Empire Zone tax incentives and corporation-sponsored projects designed to revitalize downtown Niagara Falls and its tourism industry is also included.

B2097-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the USA Niagara Development Corporation Web site produced on April 30, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains newer press releases (2006-2008), additional requests for proposals and expressions of interest (2001-2008) issued by the corporation, a development strategy (2002) for downtown Niagara Falls (N.Y.), and a multi-modal transportation report (2004). Summary information about Empire Zone tax incentives and corporation-sponsored projects designed to revitalize downtown Niagara Falls and its tourism industry is also included.

B2097-10: This accretion consists of a copy of the USA Niagara Development Corporation Web site produced on December 24, 2010, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. It contains press releases (2009-2010), a newsletter (2010), a report on the fiscal and economic impact of Seneca Niagara Casino (2005), a Market Analysis for Tourist Attractions (2004), and visitor report (2008). Summary information about corporation-sponsored projects designed to revitalize downtown Niagara Falls and its tourism industry, such as the Buffalo Avenue Heritage District Revitalization Strategy (2009) and Multi-Modal Access Program (2005), is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information in the "Development Opportunities Site Locator" section and some of the information in the "Development District Interactive Map" section could not be captured properly in late 2010.

B2097-15: This accretion consists of a copy of the USA Niagara Development Corporation Web site produced on March 6, 2015, shortly after Governor Andrew Cuomo (2011- ) completed his first term of office. It contains press releases (2013-2014), studies and reports (2004-2012), district maps, and closed Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), and Requests for Expressions of Interest (RFEIs) (2001-2014). Summary information about the corporation-sponsored projects designed to revitalize downtown Niagara Falls and its tourism industry is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information in the "Development Opportunities Site Locator" section and some of the information in the "Development District Interactive Map" section could not be captured properly in 2015.

Researchers should also note that some time after this site was copied, it was removed from the live Web. Most of its content was incorporated into the site of the corporation's parent body, the Empire State Development Corporation.
