Administrative History

The Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Performing Arts Center Corporation was established in 1979 to operate the performing arts center housed within The Egg, which is part of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza complex in Albany. It is responsible for booking theatrical, musical, dance, and other performances at the center, overseeing rental of the facility to conference and reception organizers and promoters of additional theatrical and musical performances, and developing educational programs for primary and secondary school students.
