Senator Craig M. Johnson, a Democrat, was first elected to the Senate in 2006 after serving as a member of the Nassau County Legislature. He represented the 10th Senate District, which consists of northeastern Nassau County. He chaired the Standing Committee on Investigations and Government Operations.
