Administrative History

Senator Kevin S. Parker, a Democrat, was first elected to the Senate in 2002. He represents the 21st Senate District, which consists of all or part of the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Borough Park, Parkville, Kensington, Prospect Park South, Ditmas Park, Flatbush, East Flatbush, Farragut, Rugby, and Remsen Village. He has served as Majority Whip (2009-2010) and as chair (2009-2010) and ranking minority member (2011-present) of the Standing Committee on Energy and Telecommunications.
