Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the official website of Senator José M. Serrano. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.

B2257-07: This accretion consists of an archival copy of Senator Serrano's official website produced on January 25, 2007, shortly after Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases concerning the economic impact of the arts and programs, services, and events of interest to Senator Serrano's constituents. A constituent newsletter (2005) and brochures concerning women's safety, disaster preparedness, and information of particular interest to senior citizens are also included.

B2257-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Serrano's official website produced on June 12, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases (2008) concerning Senator Serrano's support of affordable housing, an East Harlem arts festival, and immigrants' rights. A constituent mailer (2006) concerning disaster preparedness is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set.
