Administrative History

Senator William T. Stachowski, a Democrat, was first elected to the Senate in 1980. He represented the former 56th Senate District (1981-2002) and the 58th Senate District (2003-2010). The 58th Senate District consists of the Towns of Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Harrisburg, and Eden, the City of Lackawanna, and part of the City of Buffalo, all of which are in Erie County. Senator Stachowski chaired the Standing Committee on Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business.
