Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the official website of Senator Dale Volker. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.

It contains biographical information; photographs; a district map; and press releases (2006) concerning anti-crime and other legislation that Senator Volker sponsored, Senator Volker's response to proposed hospital closures and other developments affecting the 59th Senate District, and other matters of interest to Senator Volker's constituents. Also included are a 2004 report concerning Erie County Medicaid expenditures, an overview of tax relief provisions in the 2006-2007 Executive Budget, and information about school bus safety and other issues.

B2268-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Volker's official website produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information; photographs; a district map; and press releases (2008) concerning Senator Volker's sponsorship of legislation relating to care of elderly family members and unfunded mandates on local governments, state funding for facilities at an area college, and other matters of interest to Senator Volker's constituents. Information about a Senate Republican economic revitalization plan for upstate New York and the State Dairy Assistance Program for farmers is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set.
