This series consists of approximately 25,000 data cards which were used by volunteers for the Herpetological Atlas Project to record observations of herpetofauna (amphibians and reptiles). Information recorded on each card includes the names of species observed, the date and location of observation, and the contact information of the volunteer who submitted the card.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
