The relicta et cognovit is the defendant's confession that he is liable for the debt or other damages alleged in the plaintiff's declaration, plus any costs and charges arising out of the action. The document gives the names of the parties and their attorneys and the amount of damages claimed. It is signed by the plaintiff's attorney.
