Scope and Content Note

This is a fragmentary series of transcripts of judgments docketed by the clerk of the Supreme Court at Albany.

Each entry gives the following information: name of party against whom judgment has been obtained, name of party in whose favor judgment has been obtained, amount of debt, amount of damages and costs, date of filing judgment roll, name of attorney for plaintiff, and date of satisfaction (usually blank). The transcripts were compiled every two weeks by the clerk of the Supreme Court of Judicature at Albany. They were made and their contents certified as to accuracy by the clerk of the court, pursuant to a law of 1798. The four unbound fascicles in this series cover the periods August-November 1808, May-August 1810, February-May 1811, and May-August 1811. These transcripts may be those sent by the Albany clerk to another office of the Supreme Court and returned to the new Court of Appeals in 1847.
