Summary:
This series contains writs of commission, court orders to obtain written testimony for a proceeding in the Supreme Court of
Judicature. The writ appointed commissioners to depose a witness residing out of state or out of country. Accompanying the
writ are interrogatories (questions to the witness) and, occasionally, the witness's deposition (answer to the questions).
