Scope and Content Note
The series contains memorandums from Assembly sponsors or state agencies describing legislation considered by the Assembly Standing Committee on Education from January to March, 1968.
The memorandums include information on the purpose of the bill, a summary of provisions, content of existing legislation, and a statement justifying support or opposition. In addition to these memorandums, the records contain a copy of the proposed legislation and a standard request form from the bill's sponsor asking for a favorable report from the Committee. Occasionally there also are letters from individuals or organizations in support of legislation.
