Scope and Content Note
This series contains correspondence, reports, meeting materials, speeches and other records documenting the tenure of John B. King Jr. as President of the University of the State of New York and Commissioner of Education of New York State. The series documents the daily operations of the commissioner's office, including communications with the Board of Regents, major program areas of the Education Department, school boards, lawmakers, government agencies, and educational organizations.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
