This series contains correspondence, reports, meeting materials, speeches, and other materials documenting the tenure of MaryEllen Elia as President of the University of the State of New York and Commissioner of Education of New York State. The series documents the daily operations of the commissioner's office, including communications with the Board of Regents, major program areas of the Education Department, school boards, lawmakers, government agencies, and educational organizations.
