Scope and Content Note

These are minutes of monthly, annual, and special meetings of the Managers of the Society for the Reformation of Juvenile Delinquents.

Typical of contents are: resolutions of the Board; lists of bills audited by the Executive Committee; lists of committee appointments; amendments to bylaws; summaries of financial reports; appointments of officers and employees; and reports and resolutions of committees. The first extant volume is labelled "Vol. 3rd" on the spine. It appears that two original volumes, covering the years 1824 to 1856, were lost about 1857. The minutes of the first meeting in "Vol. 3rd" mention that reading of the previous meeting minutes (presumably in the missing Volume 2) was "postponed."
