Scope and Content Note

This series consists a variety of bulletins (pamphlets) published by several agencies related to the training of nurses collected by the New York State Board of Nursing. Scattered issues of "Course of Study and Syllabus for the Guidance of Nurse Training Schools" (1909-1928) are included. This publication was produced by the Education Dept. and quotes Public Health Law on topics pertaining to nursing, such as who may practice as registered nurses; who may practice as trained attendants; composition and duties of the Board of Examiners; examination rules and fees; nursing licenses and regiatration; and waivers of examinations.

Other topics covered include nursing in state institutions; schools for trained attendants; violations of Public Health Laws; and the Nursing Advisory Council. The bulletin also includes a detailed syllabus by semester for nurses' training; special rules relating to registration of nursing schools; and names and institutional affiliations of members of the Board of Nurse Examiners and the Nurse Advisory Council, with expiration dates of their respective terms.
