Scope and Content Note
This series consists of digital copies of promotional materials that describe and advertise various aspects of New York State, with particular focus on the Long Island region. It includes opening addresses and dedication ceremony documents for bridges, parks, and parkways; annual report summaries; and informational items promoting activities and places of interest throughout the state. Brochures include information about locations such as the Triborough Bridge, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge, Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, Taconic Sate Parkway, Sunken Meadow State Park and Parkway, Saint Lawrence River Power Dam, Niagara Power Station, Robert Moses State Park, Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park, New York World's Fair, City of New York public memorials, Heckscher State Park and Parkway, Caumsett State Park, Captree State Park and Parkway, Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, Bethpage State Park, Belmont Lake State Park, and Bayard cutting Arboretum State Park. Brochures contain both text and photographic images and are a rich source of concise histories on a variety of subjects and locations related to public works projects throughout the state.
