Scope and Content Note

This series consists of certificates stating that clerks in various law offices across New York State have commenced their clerkships. The certificates list the clerk's name; supervising lawyer's name; location of law office; date clerkship was commenced; and notarization. Affidavits from the lawyer and clerk are frequently included. These affirm that the individual worked as a clerk for the lawyer or law firm and describe the type of work completed during the clerkship. The form of the certificates vary from hand or typewritten statements to standardized forms.
