Scope and Content Note
This series consists of annual financial reports of villages created pursuant to Article 3, Section 30 of the General Municipal Law. That law requires that every municipal corporation make a report annually of its financial condition to the state comptroller, and that such reports be made by the chief fiscal officer of the municipal corporation.
Each report contains a statement of the financial transactions of the village and is broken down according to type of funds (general, highway, water, sewer, etc.).
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
