Summary:
The Task Force on Equalizing Educational Opportunity was the direct result of a U.S. Supreme Court decision declaring unconstitutional
New York's then-current system of school finance. The task force was directed to examine the educational and financial issues
arising for city school districts from various litigation. The series consists primarily of materials relating to contracts
with, and/or reports of, various consultants engaged by the task force to gather and analyze data on then-current and alternative
school aid formulas.
