Scope and Content Note
The records of the Commission consist of transcripts of public hearings and of inquiries held by the Commission; statements submitted at hearings; summaries of hearings; and minutes of Commission meetings. There are also subject files containing a small amount of correspondence and much background material on rental housing; rough drafts of the Commission's final report; special studies on various aspects of rental housing, produced by Commission staff and others; a bibliography on rental housing; comments on pending legislation; and files of Chief Counsel Joseph F. Lisa. Records from 1970 - 1976 include statistical data on court cases involving tenants in New York City and upstate.
