This series consists of the subject files of the Division of Industrial Sciences and Technologies, which was responsible for
coordinating activities and formulating policies in the New York State Department of Commerce relating to the development
of environmental, energy, technology, and scientific industrial programs. The records cover a wide range of topics, including
energy policy, resources, and providers; discharge of PCBs into the Hudson River by General Electric; proposed legislation;
air, water, and thermal pollution; recycling; and water quality and supply.
