Scope and Content Note

This series consists of yellow carbon copies of outgoing correspondence and inter-office memoranda, authored predominantly by the George A. Fuller Company's manager of the Albany South Mall (Empire State Plaza) construction project. Some early correspondence and memoranda are authored by State Architect Charles S. Kawecki.

Most inter-office memoranda are addressed to the director of South Mall construction in the state Office of General Services. Memoranda address such issues as review of contracts; execution of contract change orders and proceed orders; work proposals from contractors; project schedules; updates on status of remedial work resulting from inspections undertaken by Fuller Company staff; and fire and safety inspections of completed structures or construction sites.

Most outgoing correspondence is authored on behalf of the director of South Mall construction in the state Office of General Services. The vast majority is addressed to contractors and pertains to subjects such as approval of subcontractors; payment for work completed; adherence to contract specifications; requests for contract change orders; review of work proposals, plans, and cost estimates; and onsite meetings of project managers and contractors.
