Scope and Content Note

The records in this series were compiled by the Bureau of Application Review and Permitting, which became the Bureau of Stationary Sources in 1995. The records document the implementation of an ambient air monitoring program, including meteorological monitoring, by the Anitec Image Division of International Paper Company. Anitec, a graphic arts manufacturing plant, implemented the monitoring program pursuant to Interim Remedial/Abatement Measures: Order-on-Consent (Index No. A7-026991-05) issued by the Department of Environmental Conservation. Documents detail the results of sampling and analyses conducted under the Ambient Air Monitoring Network Plan (Work Plan) approved by the Department of Environmental Conservation in 1992.

The plan's objectives were to establish an air quality model of air emissions from selected activities associated with Anitec; to determine the relative ambient levels of various contaminants in the community adjoining Anitec property; and to establish a meteorological station and collect on-site meteorological data for use with the ambient sampling data. Records in this series include annual, quarterly, and monthly reports submitted to the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Attorney General's Office; a description of the ISCSZC Atmospheric Dispersion Model; analytical data packages; and laboratory data packages.
