Scope and Content Note
This series consists of master copies of announcements for state civil service examinations. Examination announcements generally include data on position title; duties and salary; minimum qualifications for admittance to the test; subject of examination, and the relative weight of its components; general information and civil service rules (such as veterans credits, fees, notification of results); and the dates on which the announcement was issued, the application period closed, and the examination was to be held.
The New York State Archives is part of the Office of Cultural Education, an office of the New York State Education Department.
