This series documents the establishment of heritage areas and also provides information on the history and cultural resources of the proposed heritage area. Each plan includes a description of boundaries of an area; an inventory and designation of cultural resources; a statement of goals and objectives; an identification of types of area uses and of properties for potential acquisition; a description of exhibits and programs to be undertaken; an economic assessment of the area's cost and benefits; a description of techniques for preservation of cultural resources; a description of organizational structure; copies of environmental reviews; and a schedule for park planning, development and management and State-issued approval. The records consist of typed and printed reports, either bound or maintained in ring binders, with accompanying maps and plans. They include copies of photographs, other images, and historical records.
